Our team of experienced instructors is led by Sensei Mike Hall - 9th Dan Black Belt Karate and
Chief Instructor of the Tao Noy Sing Martial Arts Association .

Sensei Mike has been training in Karate for over 40 years and has been developing martial artists since the Sheffield Dojo established in 1994. Mike continues developing his own martial arts journey through continuous improvement training regularly in Karate, JKD, Kali and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), currently holding a Blue Belt level in BJJ and is a qualified instructor (Magtutudlo) under Maestro Paolo Pagaling and Master Jomalin Cabellero in the Filipino stick fighting art of De Campo 1-2-3 Original.
Mike has also achieved a Coach Level 1 in Combined Fighting Arts (CFA) under Mark Hayes comprising of Jun Fan Gung Fu / Kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do concepts, Inosanto Lacoste / Doce Pares Kali and Grappling
Tao Noy Sing Martial Arts Association was founded by Sensei Terry Pemberton.
Sensei Terry started training in Shukokai Karate under the tuition of Tommy Kwan. in 1974, He continued his karate training and development under Roy Stanhope of the SKU and became an executive committee member of the SKU. Terry has trained under many prominent Martial Artists including Sensei Shigaru Kimura, SKU World Chief Instructor.
In 1986 Sensei Terry formed the Northern Area Shukokai Karate Association (NASKA) and since formed Tao Noy Sing Martial Arts Association to reflect the mix of Martial Arts Terry and his instructors teaches in his clubs.
Sensei Terry is a close family friend of Sensei Mike; an inspiration, constantly learning and developing his martial arts skills, gaining knowledge and understanding of many different martial arts systems including Jeet Kune do, Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai chi Chuan and yoga, with Shukokai Karate always as his core art.

In 2025 Sensei Terry and his Wife Sensei Margaret retired from teaching and promoted Sensei Mike to Chief Instructor of Tao Noy Sing Martial Arts along with Sensei Joanne as Chief Instructor of our Bolton Dojo.
